One wonderful discovery I have made is that alpaca breeders are a friendly group and generally not overly competitive. We encourage you to visit several farms and talk to different breeders.
I would highly recommend attending one of the wonderful seminars offered by Spa Alpacas. They are offered twice a year and are very informative for those are seriously thinking about alpacas and new owners. The next seminars will be held May 7/8 and Sept 17/18. I help out at the seminars so have been to several and each time, I still learn new information!
In addition to my neighbors at Spa Alpacas, within a just few minutes drive are two other farms.
